Fleabag here, can someone tell me if the 3rd members in the 1/2 ton semi float and the 3/4 ton full float from a 1957 model are the same and will one third member fit into either axle housing? Thanks Fleabag!!

Not that this will help you any, but I have 3 '58 Power Giants. 1/2 ton W, 3/4ton D, and 1 ton W, and all three have completely different yet factory correct differentials, and nothing will cross between them. The 3/4 ton has a heavy duty full floater which is entirely unlike anything else I have run across (I am aware of an example of this differential on a '57 W100 Town Wagon which confirms it's not a random replacement). The 1/2 ton and 1 Ton have the expected semi floating corporate and Dana 70 respectively. I'm sure there is at least one other differential that was available on 3/4 tons, and while it is possible the carrier might interchange with one of the other differentials I feel it is an unlikely proposition.
