  • 1957 Dodge D200

Hello all, I'm new here but not new to dodges. I know its not a power wagon but it seems like there is alot of information available here to help me with fixing the old truck up.

    1957 Dodge D200 3/4 ton 2WD 315 V8 and what I believe is a NP420

Can anyone tell me what kind of rear end this is? Me and my dad are stumped. Never worked on somthing this old.

    Check out www.townwagon.com
you will find a section of that website devoted to 1957-1960 Dodge trucks. There is a lot of good info there on these models, including axle info., vin decoding, etc.

That is definately a corporate axle (Built by Chrysler Corp, more than likely Dodge Corp) and NOT a Dana/Spicer unit. I believe it should be a 9.75" axle. They are pretty common and fairly easy to find parts for. You can even happen across NOS parts with a little bit of looking around.
