  • 1960 long wheelbase Townwagon fenders needed

Hi All, I am new to the site, and am a life long lover of Mopar trucks.. I recently acquired this 1960 town-wagon with a 392 Hemi in it, and the truck is a blast to drive, but desperately needs fenders, A friend of mine said he can try and make fiberglass clones from my fenders, but I'd rather have steel if possible, any info would be greatly appreciated.. I'd even consider other years of fenders and just modify the wheel arch location if sourcing is easier.

    Thanks Chad Q

Welcome Chad to our little group. I have a 64 TW which I brought back from the dead. First I don't think you have a 1960 TW. The front fenders look like 61-66 TW fenders. The 57-60 TW's were 108" wheelbase then in 61 they went to 114" wheelbase. The body is the same as earlier TW's with minor changes so I believe you need 61-66 fenders. Not impossible to find but will take a little looking.

I restore 57-60 Power Giant trucks and all Town Wagons. I hate to say it but I have a perfect set of fenders from the west coast that I will put on my TW. My current fenders are in better shape than yours they just have rust coming through at the door edge. Mine can be repaired which I may do to sell them.

Town Wagons are a blast to own and drive. I won the truck pull a this years Iowa rally with mine running a 318 poly. I'd be interested in seeing your engine as it was swapped in.

Again. welcome and don't be afraid to ask questions. If your rear wheel lips are rusting through I have an excellent way to repair those using Utiline fenders from a pick up.

      Ron,
You are correct it is the long wheelbase version, guessing it was a late production 1960, as the vin and registration are 1960. Def be interested in fenders, anything would be better than I have, and yes my rear inner fenders are gone, was thinking on using ramcharger inner fenders. The gas tank is in need of replacement also, as the rear valence panel was removed along with the filler neck, and a fill spout was placed on the top of the tank. Once again I was thinking ramcharger poly tank and filler neck, and graft it into the side of the truck on the drivers side. I can't take any credit for stuffing the 392 into the engine bay, the previous owner did that. I'll be glad to snap some photos tomorrow for you. from what he told me, its the stock trans, and clutch setup with truck motor mounts. The front bumper also has a pto winch that looks likes its from a Power wagon or similar, and also has a pto hydraulic hookup for a dump trailer or a hydraulic cherry picker that came with the truck.. The owner did lots of spare parts, from a complete rolling chassis, front and rear factory bumpers in great condition, several bell housings, starters, steering box, and what he stated was the rare rear jump seat. Also included was an extra transmission cross member, and fuel tank straps.I'm planning on putting allot of these parts out for sale, as they are just taking up too much space.
