How about some opinions out there. Shall I part it out or since it has a 128 inch wheel base, convert it to a pickup? It's pretty unique and seems to be in very nice condition.

That is pretty neat... Looks like it is all there.
Pickup trucks are everywhere and I think it's neat to see old
work trucks. Especially if you were able to come up with a theme
such as road service or a welding service and outfit it for
the era...
Kind of like what Bob Jones did with his welding truck and then
turning it into a wrecker...
Nice find either way...

That's the first time I've seen a complete floor mat in a Power Giant. The 315 poly has 7000 miles on a rebuild. 4 spd tranny with single speed rear.

Steve, that is a nice clean truck. As for making a pick up out of it, no I wouldn't go that way. A guy in CT has a 60 W300 he is trying for the same thing with the dual rear wheels and it's not easy. The utility bed works as is just need to find the right person. It has a lot of good parts on it if you decide to part it out. The fenders will work on W series as will the rest of the sheet metal. The 315 is a snappy little engine as I found out in the 58 W 200 I have here. I see it has two batteries in it so it must have seen duty as a service truck on a farm perhaps. The trucks are uaually clean in Nebraska because of no raod salt, good find and price. You're really going down the slippery slope now ha ha.
As for floor mats, John Giedl has reproduction floor mats that look really good in a Power Giant but you are right it is rare see one in that condition.

Thanks for the replys. I'm pretty excited about this find. It'll be a couple of months before I'll even get to see it up close. My cousin in Red Oak, Iowa will be driving out to pick it up. I'm sure he's going to tinker with it when he's not messing around with his International tractors and the '63 Scout he just got.
The disease is spreading, you're not going to believe this but my wife actually convinced me to bid on it. Maybe she really didn't think I'd get it. I didn't.

I just found out a little something about this D400. The lower half of the utility box was orginally fitted to this truck when new. Its first job was dynamite hauling from 1958 to 1963. From 1963 to 1974 it was used as a service truck for state highway building in Colorado and Wyoming. The truck hasn't been registered since 1974.
Oh, and the engine purrs like a kitten.

As I'm not a huge fan of the utility box, I would give thought to
making it a single rear wheel axle and putting a late '65-'71 Utiline
box on it. I think it would look excellent. The Utiline boxes for a
128" wheelbase truck are still out there.... the conversion should
be easy.
