I have a 1970 power wagon 1/2 ton with warn locking hubs. I had the wheel cylinders replaced on front. How did they do this without taking the hub apart to get the drum off. All from the back side?

I am not familar with your front axle, but some that I have seen the selectable locking needs to come off to get to whatever is retaining the wheel bearings/hub assembly, whether it be a nut or snap ring. I guess if the drum is separate from the hub then the locker would not need to come off.

There is no way to get the drum off with out taking the hub off. There are two big nuts and a lock washer (behind the hub) that hold bearing in place which holds the drum on. The backing plate wouldn't allow you access to change the wheel cylinders anyways. Usually the Warn hubs are two piece hubs that have a lock ring (around the axle) in between the two parts of the hub. Is your front end a Dana 44? (If original, it's probably a Dana 44).
