  • Going price for a good W500 is ???

Here are the specs, I bought off of here a 1966 0r 67 w500, it will have a good checked out transmission when i can get one, by the way who has a good w500 tranny and can ship to texas??

!967 or 66 w500 318 poly, flatbed with front mounted working and operating winch, good title, Colorado low mile truck, rebulit brakes all 4 wheels, has hood replacement not same color as rest of truck.

What should i ask for it????? I paid $2500 or $3500 off of here and got it hauled for $1000 down here, it was non running when i got it, everything major works on it and comes with parts and service manual and operators manual too. Reason for selling, cutting back, I have over 10 sweptlines and going to just 4. Have great 64 W200 crewcab project with parts truck and front mounted winch and lots of parts, whats it worth apart??? Thanks in advance!!!

The transmission should be NP540. Sometime's these rigs bring more in pieces than together. The axles/t-case are the most desireable parts, but I'd hate to see one cut up unless its a total rust bucket. The nicer W500's I've seen on the various sites seem to be in the $3000-$4000 range. The nicest one I've seen online was a craigslist truck (70 W500 with rear boom/pto winch) in Idaho that was asking $5000. This was a logging truck appearing to be currently in use. Maybe some of the west coast guys (NW guys too) will hop in with more info.

It's hard to get your money back out of these, especially if you dropped a lotta coin getting it transported, simply because that didn't make the truck any more valuable to anyone other than you and those living close by. Have you been on scott's site?

So are you paying to take it off your hands? Why would someone make an offer on a vehicle that they have not seen and no asking price is given.

In your original post you descibed what you had, the amount invested in it roughly, and asked what these things are going for. I told you what I had seen people ask for them in the past on craiglist and other sites, and mention that maybe some W500 owners would tell you more acurately what they are bringing. There's a dozen or so W500's registered on the sweptline registry.

My reference materials indicate that 1971 was the last year for the W500. however, the same truck was built in 1972, but it was now called a W600.
The same body style was also offered as a W600 in 1973, as well as a D500, D600, and D800. An all new body sytle was introduced in 1974, and was available as a 4x4. The last year for Dodge medium duty truck production, for sale in the U.S., was 1977.
