    hey guys
how hard is it to change a wind sheild on the swepty's? i have changed the rear window of a 74 PW ihad a few years ago. the curved glass looks like its easy to break .
I am going to pick up some doors from Don at NW parts sometime soon. sounds like he has glass also.
    thanks,

Its not really bad at all. If the rubber is really really dry then you can just cut/break it off around the sides and top of the windshield on the outside, then just lightly push it out from the inside and lift it up out of the bottom lip and its out. If your rubber is still good, pull out the locking bead and then just work the windshield out carefully using plastic prying tools to force the windshield off the cab channel. It will take quite a bit of pressure so spread your hands as wide as possible when pushing to avoid cracking the glass (if its good). Putting it back in is more tricky, but no different than any other car really. The string trick with soap will be your best friend here. If you did the rear window you should be more than capable of doing the front. The curve doesnt make it any weaker.

That should be found pretty easy by a local glass shop. They used that style of rubber for a long time, and other manufacturers did too. Take a small sample with you and a measurement of how much you need. Sometimes you can find preformed, but often they will give you a length that you wrap and glue together.

thanks, good advise and simple. i am new to these old trucks and sometimes miss the obvious . i found i can get break parts NEW from NAPA all for approx. $200. it would be nice to be ab le to stop straight and not turn hard right if i hit the breaks to keep from going left./.lol. gotten used to doing it though.

Restoration Specialties has a complete window rubber kit, including everything for the doors except the vent windows.
I'm not on a computer with my favorites, so I do not have the link, but you can easily yahoo or google it.
