  • 8 lug wheels

I found a nice set Michelins on Craig's. They are mounted on M715 wheels and have new tubes and flaps. I want to use the tires on my 1970 W300, which has a nice set of STA's mounted on the original wheels. Rather than dismounting these, I would like to go tubeless with the Michelins. Will any Dodge 8 lug wheel work? I know that up to some point, Ford and Chevy share this pattern, right?

If I recall the M715 uses Dana 70 axles, as did the W300. Don't know how "identical" they (axles) are.

Chevy/Gm wheels at some point (70's-80's?) wouldn't work on Dana axles, center hole in wheel is too small to go over the hub.

Not sure but Dodge 8 lugs should be same from 60's to 93 maybe. Don't know what years changes occured.

You should be able to use any 8 lug wheel from a chevy/dodge or a ford wheel up to 1998. Here's the 9.00x16 michelins on my W200. I had some 16"x7" wheels powder coated and had the tubeless michelins installed. They balanced up really well for having some odd tread wear.

They are available! I'm trying to find a tire hammer locally so I can dismount the tires.

I believe chevy wheels have a smaller hub
hole. Also, when using ford wheels, keep in
mind that they did switch to a larger diameter
stud [don't know the exact year] which may
present problems with proper lug nut seating.
                Just my two cents.....
