    hello my question is for the bolts on the shocks it says in the shop manual to tighten them to 40 -70 foot pounds how is this obtained how do you know how much to tighten ? is this obtained with a certian tool ie impact gun ? or could i use a wrench or ratchet ?

    You need a ft/lb torque wrench.

      As John said you would need a torque wrench but for things like shocks I usually just tighten until it feels tight have been doing it that way for over 40 years and havent lost one yet.
