70 crew cab w200

I have been looking for a crew cab 4x4 power wagon for a while, and I found a 70 a few weeks ago and bought it. It looks to have been a fire truck when new and then an airport rescue vehicle until being retired sometime in the early 90's. It is a 383 truck with a 4 speed and 4.10 gears.

It had an option KA9011 omit rear seat option on the vin tag. Also it has CK9061 sheet met option on the tag. Is anyone here on the board familiar with these options?

I will have some pics tomorrow of the truck.

The sheet metal S.E.R.T. might pertain to the front fenders on your
Forcible Entry W200. You can contact Ben Simons through the
CSS Registry or www.sweptline.org to see if he can elaborate
on these S.E.R.T. numbers on your VIN tag. Your truck has an
NP445 tranny by the tag information..... that's nice to have synchro
down into 1st gear.

Thanks for the info on the front fenders. That very well may be the code for that.

I wonder who originally purchased this truck. It was red when new. Would the military used red trucks? I thought that most during this time were either green or dark blue?

This very well could have started its life out as a civilian
fire department truck.
