The 1958 W300 differential has a removable cover, and the 1954 Power Wagon does not, is that correct?

i think you are right ... on my 54' you have to take all the gears out of the diff to see it...

on the w300 you have a cover.. do you think its not the same gear ?

i think on the w300 its a dana70 and on pw 54' ...i dont really know..

I do think there was an optional ratio in the 4.8X range for the FFPW rear that normally had 5.8X. Did you ask on Joe's site?

Hard to come by, from what I understand. There is some talk about a limited run of new gears on the Power Wagon Forum.

The Dana 70 in the W300 has a 10 1/2" dia. ring gear. I think the ones on the FFPW trucks are different diameter. Total different animal.
