The only truck I have with a bed, and license plates.
I made the decision to get rid of Truck payments last year.
I enjoy the slower pace of life. I truly enjoy driving this when I need and want to. Just this fall I had the 37 12.50 r17 Thunderer brand tires installed.
They were reasonably priced and they ride well to.
Hank, as I lovingly call him came as a factory 383 PowerWagon, large knuckle 3500 pound front axle with the 409 and 410 gear ratio.
Some time before me the 383 was removed and replaced with a 440.
the 435 transmission in him is starting to get a little rattley in 3rd gear and it could use a a little brake work, and a swap out on the front left steering knuckle.
The hole for the tierod end is worn a bit. Someday, I will pull him into the shop and give him some attention.
I did a good road test not long ago, and ran him over to Mt. Pleasant. A town about 25 miles east. I kept him right around 60 miles per hour and roughly 3200 rpms.
He purred fine and it was a great ride, I loaded up a set of pallet forks I had made for the Kubota.
He hauls my firewood and pulls my tractor. He does the work I need and has a great smiles per mile factor.
Future plans are power steering and maybe a disc brake front end.
But until then, I will be happy with him. Just the way he is.
