  • Wc-52

    Hello all!

This is my 1942 WC-52. Originally it was an M-6 Motor Gun Carriage, or WC-55. As far as I can tell it was rebuilt into a WC-52 in 6-45 by the 9th Service Command in California. It still had the original paint on it when I bought it, and the hood number is the one it rolled off the assembly line with. Enjoy!

How do you know the hood number...

    is original.

We often talk about tracing the hood numbers for vehicles, and everyone would love to know how to do this.

    Thanks.

Great looking WC. Have you thought about locating a 37MM and restoring it to original condition? :)

      Terry-

The hood number is original because it was the number painted on it originally. I was lucky enough to have a truck that had all the original army paint on it. I was able to sand down to the blue drab hood numbers that they put on at the factory. It was fun playing detective! There's actually a company that is making a replica 37mm, but I don't think anyone makes the mounts, and that is the real hard part.

        Nice photo

Looks like your in the Ardennes in 1944.
It's always cool to find original markings.
        Enjoy, Olaf
