  • 1954 M37 Vin Code

    Besides the dash plate where else could I find the vin code on these trucks?

    Please Help!

    Thanks

    Drivers side frame rail, just in front of the axle, stamped into the steel, if its dirt covered or heavily painted, it could be hard to find, might take some scratching away of the paint. Numbers are about 3/8" high or so.

      How long is the number? The last time I looked I found a number in that location but it was modled to a bracked not the frame. So that isnt the number right?

        Not a M-37

        But the same general location;

        There will be no bracket or plate, the VIN is stamped directly onto/into the frame.

            I'll cut you some slack...

            ...because I know about your x-ray vision, ....= )
            but, yes, in the same general location but some trucks have the number on the passenger side, some on the drivers.
            A lot of M's and WC's have the number covered with brackets or gussets for the winch mounting. Chalk, wire brush and luck are sometimes needed!
