Thank you for the complimants, more pics in the for sale forum. But my daughter is talking me out of selling it. She is a very strong willed, nevermind her 3 year old counterpart to help. Looks like I may be keeping the rig.....its a good thing.

          Very clean and well done.

I agree with your kids. DON'T sell it.

Heck I got my 74 W200 for peanuts compaired to what they are selling for. Add what time I have stuck into it so far. I would never get that out of it as it sits.

When all said and done, it will be well worth it when finished. And seeing as the low break down and heavy hauling these can do. It is worth keeping.

Only design issues I have found is with the drain plugs (most parts dont have any). Would be worth it to install one or two in the doors. Water also collects at the lower fenders (bottom where it bolts to the cab) hit that area with extra anti rust coating.

lol dialup come on JimmieD get up with the times. If you can get dialup why not try for DSL. If you have cable get a broadband connection. But then again I have found many of us older folk that are happy with dialup (but not me.... I had to get the 10mb broadband)

I wanted to stay as original with the look as possible. I added the leafs to the sprins packs for and extra inch or 2 of height. It made a big difference in stance and ride too. When I had the body work done, the shop put a couple of drain holes in the doors for me. I need to replace the seal around the winshield though, when it rains water collects in the cab when it is parked. I started with a plain jane M880 and figured since it was retired , I would dress it civilian and give it a good life. Kinda why I went with the Power Wagon look of the time. Lucked out on the gauges, did have to have the tach redone.

I sent a note to Gordon to see if I can get the fore sale thread killed. Then I'll post my other pics here from that as well.

Truck turns alot of heads when responding to fire & rescue calls in town.

As this is to be a keeper now may I suggest a modification to the dash electrical? The Mopar standard system of an Ammeter that carries ALL CURRENT coning into the cab is a recipe for disaster. I finally dumped them, but had 2 dashboards laying around for proof of what I preach on. These were entirely melted and fries, all because of the Amp gauge.

Far better to come off your alternator output to a terminal stud and then run wires from there, and use a voltage gauge instead of amp gauge. You can run off the terminal stud directly to your fuse box and backwire for anything needed at dash. This removes the weak link that can reduce your beautiful truck to charred ashes!

There are also instruction on how to convert the dash 5VDC voltage reducer to a solid state piece that's much more reliable. Really very easy and inexpensive to do.

For further info you can peruse the Mad Electric website:

Lots of custom work done to the dash area.

                      Tach
                      vac
                      volt
                      radio
                      cb
                      ect. lights

Would not mind getting the wire diagram of this one, or better yet just to get it lol

Amp meter mod already done, one of the first things done when new dash wiring was installed. I followed the wiring from the Dodge Truck service manual for the vac, volt, and tach additions. Radio fused from the fuse box, lights of roof on relay as is siren, 2-way was installed by a real good shop used by the Mutual Aid System. They said easiet radio install they had in a long time.

Added the 100 amp Chrysler Alt. and a Optima battery as well.

The volt gauge is a little off on its readings ( it reads high )...checked varios points with a good meter but hey its a 30 year old gauge.....

Yes, now that you mentioned I see that. But I also see the 'ALT' gauge which would be the amp gauge. So it's likely still using the amperage gauge to carry all current in/out and has an auxiliary or additional voltage gauge to monitor battery.

I've never seen that gauge setup before, obviously factory, so must be an M880 thing to military specs?

I was going to go hi-speed with first year at $19.95 monthly. Fine, but after the 1st year, once you're hooked on it, the price goes to nearly $50 per month! So I figure at $12.95 for good quality dialup at steady 51K I have about $444 more per year to spend on my Dodge!

Nothing going thru alt/amp gauge...bypassed it.
