My '68 W200

Nice looking truck John, how many tenderloins do need for a trade? You have to love a 68 Sweptline especially with a winch to boot.

Well...... actually..... it started out with just a touch of rust....
Cab came from CA and the other body parts came from a relatively
decent donor truck I had. It is a "retired" U.S. Army vehicle. I had
the complete PTO/winch set up sent in from a guy in New Mexico
who no longer wanted it on his '66 W200. The engine is an LA318
I had from a '71 W200 tow truck [about 42K on it]. A fellow Sweptliner
was nice enough to ship me the cab. I had a freight broker who
did me a "favor".... gave me a good rate. I did all the body swap
work myself..... well.... the wife DID help guide the cab onto the
frame.... gotta give credit where credit is due!

I think it took me a month to digest that tenderloin I had in Auburn!
It was definitely nap time after that one. LOL

John I didn't want to say anything at the time but we have MUCH better tenderloins than that around here. They ran over those with a drum roller I think. Try to keep the rust at bay on that 68 if you can. I'm planning my rally for next year the week end between Mother's Day and Memorial day so mark your calender. Maybe we can have tenderloins for lunch? ha ha

I know all the tenderloin "hot spots" around Indy. They are a necessary item
when we visit my sister. The one in Auburn was definitely served for the
"shock effect". Restaurants in NY don't serve them.
I'll have to see what is happening that time in May. Maybe I'll get called out
for some more home repair about that time. I wouldn't survive a trip in the
'68 though as it has 4:88's and does about 55mph at 3600rpm :)

Yes I could see were that would be a long expensive trip with the 68. I'd just have a bad case of Sweptline envy and I've got enough projects as it is. Keep us in mind and I'll post next spring to remind everyone again. I still don't understand the ban on Tenderloins in NY state. I'm sure they could find a way to tax them like they do everything else. LOL That NY Thuway tax is a killer with 5 axles.
