  • Dodge 218 Flathead Engine '48-'49 For Sale

I have for sale a Dodge 218 Flathead 6 dodge engine. Engine would run and cough when fuel was poured into the carb. I have since parted out most of the truck and still have this engine that I am planning on pulling out over Labor day weekend.

I could also part the engine out if enough people wanted specific parts.

$300 for complete engine OBO. Located in Chesapeake Va, but could arrange delivery to the Fredericksburg Va or Manteo NC area.

Email me at blackwaterfabrication@gmail.com if you are interested.

You might want to list it in the Pilot House forum's 'truck parts for sale' section.

Near the bottom of the page.

          You're welcome.
Is the motor stamped T-142 on the head above the generator?

Yep! Sure does! Actually, if you are a member could you maybe just cross link to this forum for me? I feel bad joining the forum just to post one thing for sale. Ya know?

                  Better to post than scrap

In my neck of the woods, seems like the first thing that comes to mind is to send extra parts to scrap. And as far as the scrapyards are concerned, they send everything more then 7 years old to the crusher. Voilà! Your type of motor isn't the one I'm looking for but I'm sure other bloggers will show an interest in it. I salute you Alxj64 for what you're doing.

Okay... well the engine is starting to overstay its welcome where it is being stored. I will let the whole thing go as it sits for $100. Someone come buy this, even if its for spare parts, its worth $100.

I lucked out and found somone on CL that bought mine last year, ironically he was looking for yours since the car he was working on had a 218.

Probably your best bet since we seem to be in a dead zone for these vehicles. No one close enough to want to come get it and too heavy to ship and both of us are building oil burners.

                            still available?

...and if so, Are you selling the engine complete with manifolds, carb, starter etc?

                            Thanks

I have actually sold the engine. Was back and forth with a fellow when you posted asking about it so he had first claim... We have since made a deal and he placed a deposit.

Thanks to everyone who helped find this thing a home and kept it from being lost to the recycler.
