NP420 Twin PTOs

I have a set of twin PTO assemblies from the side of my NP420. Came out of my WC53 parts truck but it appears the engine and transmission are from a '48 year model truck. The one PTO is the forward/reverse winch output. The second PTO is a single direction direct drive and was mounted rear facing on the transmission I pulled it from.

Both could stand to be cleaned up with new seals before being installed. Sadly I do not have the handles for either one.

Is the np420 tranny that matches up to a 252 ?

If so I may be interrested. does it have a shaft to the frount as well as the rear? I need one to run a frount winch as well as a dump body. thanks, ron

I know that the single direction (non reverseing) pto has a rear facing output and then the other pto is the winch type PTO.

As for the NP420 going to a 252, that I am uncertain. This one was bolted to a 230. I still have the transmission but it appears as though its just going to get parted to a minimum and then tossed as they seem to be rather abundant and in better shape. This transmission that I have has what appears to be a bent shift fork and I haven't the time to really mess with it as I am doing a resto-mod build and the transmission is getting replaced with an Allison 5 speed anyways.

The reverse facing PTO unit was sold. I still have the Winch PTO unit. Turns out these are NOT for an NP420 but rather for an earlier crash box transmission.
