I told my wife last night that I'd really like to be able to mow grass tonight. That sure didn't happen. If you're going to dream, dream BIG. So is the M 37 going to be in Iowa this year Rick?
It's not June yet Rick, but there are some signs of life here. It is a balmy 36 degrees here in Des Moines. I got this shot about 20 minutes ago. June will be here before you know it.

Ok, Ok, I realize most of you don't know where Onalaska, Texas is so, here it is we are located about 90 miles north of Houston, TX.
I am sitting on my dock (yep, with a laptop and writing this) with a fishing buddy (my grandson Tryston 15-years old) contimplating and drinking coffee (me) he's drinking a Dr. Pepper.
Temperature is a balmy 62 degrees F. going to a high of 73 degrees or so the weatherman says, rain forecasted tonight and tomorrow.
Just finished tinkering and waiting for parts to show up (wife says more money into the pit) for my 66 power wagon, nothing serious just tinkering, checking fluids i enjoy getting grease under my fingernails.
My grandson has been helping me, and telling how it should be done on but, as you know grandchildern think we are helpless.
My other two grandchildren Jared, Brendan think it is cool to have an old truck but don't like the fact that it is slow.
Well here comes the gang, wifey says lunch is ready.
We're forecast to get back to normal winter temps this week. More snow coming too, but it looks like there will be a window with no snow on Th., Fri., and Sat. Looks like coming on the 4th will be perfect.
It's Iowa though. You never know.
Bob2,
I've been out fishing a couple times this week too. I won't let the cold weather do me in.
Winter is one of the best times to go fishing in the upper Midwest.
In the summertime, there's not much a guy can do to cool off. Mosquitoes are biting, and the fish have a real fishy taste.
In wintertime though, we can just throw on a few layers of warm clothes and feel good all day. Cold water fish taste great. And there are no bugs in the air.
Like you, I often take kids along for fishing partners. They make for great company. They don't talk about politics or the economy. They marvel at simple things like seeing a red fox run across the ice. They don't worry much about the weather.
