  • parts haul needed back east from rally

I will be attending the rally and hauling my '52 flatfender "Kirkwood" our there.
I have a 20 foot gooseneck trailer. I have done some measuring, and it is not quite long enough to do something I had hoped to do.
That was to also bring back home with me a 1960 power giant cab and front clip for a different project. My tentative plan was to have the power giant parts dropped off at the Rally from the west.
If you have room on your trailer for this, and live in the east, I would help you with your diesel costs. Delivery to my house is not necessarily needed; I could at a later date drive up to wherever you live if not too far and pick up the parts.
    I live in Maryland.

    Iowa to Vermont.

Doc, just thinking out loud, if someone attends Iowa and plans on attending VT, you're welcome to have the cab dropped off here in NJ at my place until you can come fetch it. the fuel contribution$ often makes attending rallys possible for midwest enthusiasts who havent experienced the Cavindish VT Rally yet. Iowa is early june, VT is late june I think.

      Thank you for that offer!
I might need to consider it.
I have a lead on someone who might be able to haul back to PA or Jersey. He is a member of the MVPA.

Dave just a thought here but if you have 20 ft of deck you should have room for the cab at least unless your FFPW has a winch. Separate the front clip and put it in the back of your truck. I put a cab in a Utiline bed and hauled it home from Iowa.

          Ron,
You are correct, the trouble is that I have a winch on Kirkwood. From my measuring, the PG cab would be off the back end of the trailer a foot or two. That makes me a little nervous and also don't know if I would get pulled over by the law.
If not for the winch I think it would work.
I agree about the idea of putting the fenders and hood in my truck's bed.
