  • 426 wedge & NV4500 in 1-ton Power Wagon

This issue of Power Wagon Advertiser mailing next will contain an article on Matt Maund's engine conversion of a WDX-WM300 series of 1-ton Dodge Power Wagon, installing a Chrysler 426 wedge and NP4500 o/d 5-speed transmission. The installation is really well done, and introduces some new thinking to the mix that is important and beneficial.

I suspect Matt will at some point be producing parts to help enthusiasts implement their own engine conversions. That will be a great enhancement to the hobby.

Matt runs an automotive business offering a range of services:

Maund Motorworks is a worldwide supplier of high performance automotive, marine, and motorcycle related parts and accessories, handling antique, classic, farm and industrial engines and parts and offer parts location services in the Pittsburgh area.

Maund Motorworks is based out of a small shop in Coal Center, Pennsylvania, which is located 35 miles south of Pittsburgh. Big block Chryslers and Chrysler Hemis are the specialty of the business, but they also do small block Chryslers as well as other makes. Maund Motorworks features crate motors built per order and tailored to the needs of the customers. Whether the engine needed is stock, restoration, street rod, pro street, or full drag, Maund Motorworks is the shop to consult.

Maund Motorworks also sells new and used parts, even having some NOS parts from old dealerships available. Inventory constantly changes, so contact Maund with your parts needs. They also offer parts location services.

Maund Motorworks has additional services besides crate motors and parts location. Offering restoration and performance Mopar transmissions including the 727 pushbutton, restoration fuel systems, and metal fabrication.

Owners of classic cars take a great deal of pride in their vehicles. Maund Motorworks takes that same great deal of pride in each product that goes out the door. Whether the engine is basic or full custom, each one is made to match not only the vehicle and intended application, but to customer preference. And even though the engines may be mass-produced mechanical objects to most shops, Maund Motorworks gives them the special individualized attention they deserve.

Why is it that the inside of old truck cabs smell so good?
