Helped a friend over the weekend convert a Ram 5500 from leaf spring to a 4 bag kelderman air ride.
About all I was able to do was provide moral support but we (he) got it done.
The two main advantages are vastly improved ride quality, and the ability to maintain a constant ride height, whether it's loaded or not. The advertised cargo capacity if this truck is something like 9,370 lbs., so you can imagine what the empty ride is like. This kit is from Kelderman, from your home state. Oskaloosa to be exact. Can't wait to do the front kit and then drive it. I would imagine I'll have a lot more to report after this next weekend! Doug
Gordon,
Wouldn't that upper bar you see be a track rod?
There calling it a panhard bar to keep the rear end centered.
Then there are the upper and lower trailing arms. to keep pinion angle constant, and also to control torque.
Sometimes called torque arms.
So basically you have a five link rear suspension.

Why is it that the inside of old truck cabs smell so good?
