  • Welding spring steel

I was wondering if it is possible to weld mild steel to an old chrysler torsion bar. I assume the torsion bar is spring steel but don't know for sure since the bar gets twisted when on the vehical.

    Don't waste your time.
The weld will break off the bar or break the bar from being brittle.
The heat takes the temper/spring out of the bar.
You can cut a spring on the ends, but that's it.
