  • Parts washer solution

My wife bought me a nice large parts washer for my birthday(God I love that girl!!). I was wondering everyone else uses for cleaning solution. At work( a small job shop) we use Safe-t-solve, but the cost would be rather prohibitive. Any suggestions?

I have used diesel, xylene and other petrochemicals but the best stuff I have ever found are the citrus based solvents such as D-Limonene (comes in other names). It's made from processed citrus peels, safe for humans, low flammability and a real good cleaner - plus it smells good. The only problem I have had is dry skin after using it without gloves. It also lasts a long time because it does not evaporate very fast (assuming you keep the lid closed).
