  • You get what you pay for

A friend of mine was on a road trip when he had some issues with his Cummins Dodge. He stopped into a Murrays, Autozone, or whatever store it was and bought a fuel filter. Several miles down the road he noticed his fuel gauge was reading low so he pulled over to investigate. The new fuel filter split at the seam(see pic) and dumped a tankfull of diesel on the highway. He called the local NAPA store and they were nice enough to send out a driver with a filter and a strap wrench.

The bad filter even comes with a m.i.c. warning on it.

I hope he wore rubber gloves. From what I hear in dozens of cases, it's quite possibly toxic to health too! Thanks for the post, hope you're feeling better...
