I appreciate all the help and responses, thought I had one in my sights and it disappeared off ebay when I got home from work...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=120293579743

I keep looking and its a life of torture, I keep seeing Dodges I'd love to bring home but just can't fit one more in the yard as it is.

I could scavenge the wifes CTD and build this beast...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=250281146123

If I build another diesel it would make most sense to build a little one. I gave the '76 Power Wagon to my dad because I don't have time to drive it. I'm going to try talking him into installing a 4BT in it(his money). Hopefully diesel prices will keep dropping like Mr Talbert said...

This URL will take you to the answers about the Dodge D50 diesel trucks. All were Mitsubishi powered 4D55 or 4D56 engines. The "Canadians" on the 4x4Wire site split off from the main Mitsubishi page just to answer diesel issues because they are able to buy the later models directly from Japan and import them.

My daily driver is a 92 Dodge Power Ram 50 4x4 with the fuel injected 2.4l. I can outrun one of my friends 2wd 4.3l s10's with it up to 75. I also would like to get a diesel d50, but they sure are hard to find. There is a ram50/mightymax forum, here is a link http://www.mightyd50.com
Here is a pic of mine

Nice truck '76PW, I'm still looking for D50 Diesel and just sold my 76 W200 yesterday. It's headed to Texas on I-10 and then on to Colorado and finally a fulltime resident in Northern California. I'm gonna do a few launches in the Dart today to take some of the sting from my depression. On the positive side I'm now free to hunt for a fresh car for the Darts bullet-proof drivetrain and have decided on a 70-72 Roadrunner/GTX/Satellite project. Hope ya'll don't mind me sticking around without a Powerwagon in my stable...travel safe Big Blue

            MoparDave stick around

I'll make you an honorary part owner of one of mine, if that makes you feel better.

To add to comments about a Volkswagen diesel engine from a Rabbit.
We had a Rabbit, I think it was a 1981. THe engine got great mileage and was very reliable. But, it was a "DOG" as far as acceleration.
We had to consciously be aware of this aspect, so we would not pull out on a ramp of the freeway and get creamed.
I wonder if it could have been fitted with a turbo, and if that would have really helped.
Since that experience, I know I would not have a non-turbo diesel in a vehicle that would be on the highway any time at all.
A few years ago I bought a used Cummins 4BTA that I am going to put in my M37 project truck, when I finish with the civilian resto.
I have a non-turbo 4 cylinder diesel in my farm tractor (IH 574). Great engine, no acceleration aspect needed in this application.
