To all interested veterans;
The annual cruise to honor veterans will be on the 6th of November. Information can be found at www.ProjectLibertyShip.com and reservations (which are needed) can be made at 410-558-0164.
The John Brown is a W.W.II Liberty ship built in Baltimore during the war. It is powered by a 2500HP triple expansion reciprocating steam engine. All auxiliary machinery is powered by reciprocating steam engines. Besides the engine room tours, food and entertainment are provided.
There are only 2 of these ships left afloat, 1 in California and the other is the Brown. Besides the machinery, the old timers who operate and crew the ship are very interesting people to talk to.
The Brown will be docked in Locust Point in Baltimore located right off I-95 just south of the Fort McHenry tunnel for boarding for the cruise.
