  • **IT'S RALLY TIME!!** VPW Fairfield Rally Coming Up June 8th!

    ** SPECIAL UPDATE **
Early Rally Registration Deadline extended to
Tuesday May 31, 5 PM Central Time!

    18th Annual
International Vintage Dodge Power Wagon Rally
    - June 8-11, 2005 Fairfield, Iowa

We're less than 2 weeks away from another great Vintage Dodge Power Wagon Rally! Registrations continue to come in every day with names of those who have been coming for years and those who will be attending for their very first time.

This year will be a special event with some added incentive for those of you considering attending.

    ********************Special Highlight********************
Jim Allen from Four Wheeler Magazine will be attending this year and writing a feature article about our Rally for Four Wheeler!
    ************************************************** **********

Dodge Truck has loaned Jim one of Dodge's new Power Wagons to drive to the rally and the magazine will feature an article on not only the Power Wagon Rally but the performance of Dodge's new Power Wagon as well. If you'd like to see your Dodge Truck inside the pages of Four Wheeler, here's your possible chance.

On hand also will be Gordon Maney from the Power Wagon Advertiser, our favorite niche Power Wagon Magazine. For those of you who know Gordon and for those of you who haven't met the man, stop by his table at the Fairgrounds to be heckled (and of course discuss a word or two about Power Wagons). Gordon will be speaking at our Saturday Night Banquet -- he's a great speaker and one you won't want to miss.

Attending this year too will be Bruce Thomas from the Chrysler Historical Section in Detroit. Bruce was an engineer for Dodge Truck, beginning in 1946. He was on hand during all the production years of the Dodge Power Wagon and M-37 and even worked on the T-53, the prototype for the M-37. Bruce owns a fantastic collection of vintage Chrysler vehicles. He is retired with his wife Ruth, still lives in Michigan and volunteers his time helping with historical research at Chrysler Corporation. Bruce will be giving a special slide presentation on Power Wagons at our banquet. We are all looking forward to it.

We often get asked: What do you do at one of your rallies and is it something my family would want to attend with me. Time after time we get comments from first time attendees who love the rally, including many girlfriends, spouses and kids. The rally has become similar to a big family reunion for those who love old Dodges and is enjoyed by people of all ages.

Unlike the standard car shows that many of us have attended, our Rally has many events, like trail rides -- where you'll get a chance to drive your truck, or maybe ride with someone else. And then there's our Teeter Board Contest, too, testing the contestants ability to balance on a track that tips (like a teeter-totter). Lots of great events you won't want to miss.

The food is always popular too: everyone loves the wiener roast (and its free to attend!), the Barbecue on Friday, the Banquet on Saturday, and our new location for the Wednesday dinner, at the Bonaparte Retreat in Bonaparte Iowa.

So come see some great trucks, and meet some great people! Bring yourself, your family, and your truck too, if you can...

    Hope to see you soon,
Dave Butler, and the VPW crew
