  • notice: North Texas Sweptline Rally, Denton, Tx. Oct. 21,2006

We are going to have a little Sweptline Rally here in North Texas. Power Wagons are invited also.
This will be a pretty informal event. Line up our trucks to admire, talk trucks, meet people, eat lunch, talk trucks, and buy/sell/trade parts.
    Date: Oct. 21, 2006
    Time: 10:00AM - 4:00PM or whenever
Location: Premier Lawn and Power parking lot
1720 West University Drive, (Hwy 380)
    Denton, Tx.
    ( Just 1.2 miles from I35)
A catered BBQ lunch is being planned, with a price to be announced soon. Probably $7.00 $9.00/person range. Advance, paid reservations will be needed for the lunch.
Door Prizes: We might have some, if I can find someone to donate stuff. No promises, but we will see what we can come up with.
Mark your calender, clean up your truck, and stop by.
    More details as they develop.

We are going to have a catered lunch at the Rally. Details are posted at the two Sweptline forums. Drop by one of them and read all about it. Would love to see any and all Power Wagons there.

Reminder: only 3 weeks to the Sweptline rally

Just wanted to bring this to the top again. Come bring your Sweptline or flatfender Power Wagons, M37's, or other vintage dodge vehicles.
You do not need advance reservations now to eat lunch with us. Just buy a meal ticket when you get here. So, along with your truck, bring your appetite.

Our first ever North Texas Sweptline Rally was a great success. We had about 16 Sweptline trucks, a WWII half ton, and a super clean, one owner 74 dodge D100. Also had a couple of Mopar muscle cars show up.
Weather was great, and everyone had a good time.
We had 2 Power Wagons in attendance. My 69, W200, and Mac's WWI half ton pickup.
We plan to do it again next year.

Jeff I'm glad you had a good turnout for your first event, still wish I could have been there just to many miles right now. We had a rally of sorts last Sat ourselves. My friend Pieter, his girl friend Rene, Jill Sternes of the Purple People Eater TW, Jon Martin and Mike Morgan were all at my shop for one reason or the other. Jill and Jon brought me her TW for me to to revive the body. Pieter was here for our apple butter making and Mike was reinstalling his boat motor. I told them all that we had enough for a mini rally, no T shirts or raffle but we did go back to my in laws for lunch. So now I have 3 TW's on the property and they all need something done to them, never mind the A100 that's waiting in the wings for it's chance. Did you have enough sweet tea to go around? LOL

Ron, That sounds like the making of a future rally. Maybe you could have a Power Giant/Town Wagon rally, featuring 57 - 60 trucks and all years of Town Wagons. You might be surprised at the turnout.

Jeff, I've thought about having a rally here but that's as far as it's progressed. Since there are so few of us PG /TW owners and we are spread across this great land of ours I guess it would probably be a small gathering. I was thinking we could drive up to Auburn to the NATMUS museum and to the Kruse Victory museum which is only up the road a little piece. Of course if I did get a fair turnout we could show the museums a few things too. Hmmmm.... And if I did you know I'd serve sweet tea even though we are north of the line,LOL. By the way have you heard anything from the new owner of your 58? Any chance he would go to Iowa next year?
