  • Fort Bridger Mountain Man Rendezvous

Bec and I took the '49 Power Wagon to the Rendezvous this weekend and got a lot of great comments on the PW. Here are a few pictures from the Rendezvous and Cannon Shoot competition.

    More Rendezvous pictures

The bison skull in the previous post was the biggest I've ever seen, probably over 1.5 times bigger than the second biggest I've seen. It was sold for $650.00 just as I took that picture. Before and after pictures of a mortor being fired. Most of the cannon fire either bowling balls or golf balls - much cheaper than the real thing.

Yeah, good, clean down & dirty FUN! You gotta be real serious about fun there!

I think that one mortar is missing the concept of 'mortar', needs a bit of ballast. I'll have to study up and find out if a piece of well casing in concrete makes a decent mortar. Have some mountain fun here myself!! I've considered using oxy/propane ignition, water & fire extinguishers at the ready of course...
