  • Cleaning a giant carburetor air cleaner

I have a giant oil bath air cleaner on the carburetor of my WC-27. (See pictures.) Apparently it was installed for desert use. Inside the housing is a very large filter. I tried to remove the filter with no luck so I have a couple of questions: 1) Is the filter even meant to be removed and 2) if so, how the heck do I do it?

    Thanks,
    Terry

I think the oil-bath cleaners are soaked in a solvent tank- haven't seen any that came apart.
