  • Big Block Headers

I found out, the hard way, last night that big block B body headers will not fit in my 77 Adventurer (400 cid). I called Hedman this morning for a set of headers that will fit. I was told that the (4X4 headers http://www.hedman.com/products/?id=3...4684&rsku=4684) will not fit my 2WD truck (2WD link http://www.hedman.com/products/?id=3...4686&rsku=4686). I don't want to have to buy new headers when I do the 4X4 conversion.

I'm looking for any info on weather the 4X4 headers will fit with my current set up (2WD).

I used to sell speed equipment twenty years ago. When a header manufacturer tells you that something "will fit", this usually means some type of customizing with a hammer. If they tell you they won't fit then I would assume its the truth. In your case it probably has to do with the steering linkage.

What I was told is that the passenger side is different, driver is the same. I assume it is because of the t-case.

        The headers currently on my 78 W200 440 were off of a 78 D200 440. Don't know why headers that will fit a 2WD wouldn't fit a 4WD. I can see why B-body headers wouldn't fit either truck.BTW I'd recommend a hi-torque mini starter on any vehicle with headers.
