I pulled the pinion yoke from Dylan's B3-PW known as "Cherry Blossom."
The seal surfaces are not pitted too badly, that is good. However, it's pretty obvious that the leather seal had run dry for many of her 18,000 miles. There's a .025" deep groove where the leather seal rides. That's a .050" diameter reduction. I'm concerned that a speedi-sleeve will either conform to the groove or just wear through. I'm looking for either assurance or ideas. Will this thing be likely to seal as it is? Does anybody have a decent solution to returning this pinion yoke back to service?
