New M37 Owner!! Serial Number Question

I just purchased a M37 (USMC model) and it has no data plates whatsoever. How do I determine the serial number or any history about the rig? I noticed that there is a number stamped into the frame in the left front area. I would like to find out the history of my new (to me) truck. Thanks guys!!!

Well I guess you closed the deal. The complete VIN# is stamped in the left frame rail web about mid-way between the steering gear box and the idler arm bracket. That # is all you need to determine the year model. Did the seller furnish a title with the truck?
