  • New to M-Series...

    Hi All...I am new here,like u wouldn't know that, but I just bought my first MV...It's a 1953 M43...

I work at a small salvage yard/repair shop as the only mechanic...well, one day I'm in the yard looking for a lawn mower recoil (don't ask...lol...I work on alot of "stuff"...farm country y'know) As I'm looking I see an Army truck so I take a look at it and that's all it took...I asked the boss what he wanted for it, he said $300 and I said "Done"...Hopefully I get it here sometime next week....

Of course I did some online research and found this site which seems very informative...I am a mechanic and can do alot but I'm hoping for alot of info from people who know these trucks better than me...And the wife is not overly happy (I told her I traded her 1999 Concorde for it...lol)

But anyway when I get it here I'll post some pics and get some opinions...It'll just be a recreational vehicle (for now)...But I'd like to use it for just camping and the occasional tour around town...

Why is it that the inside of old truck cabs smell so good?

You should make that your signature. It seems to sum up life in general :)

Yeah, if they just shake their head it's a good sign. It's when they walk away muttering something not printable and still shaking their head that things go down hill quick.

If there are no throwable objects in the area, you'll be fine.

Nice! Luckily, it looks like you've got a solid body, as far as dents go. That'll make your life easier.

                            It's pretty! Congratulations!
