  • toyota m37 copy cat

it's called an fq15. In highschool I had a 65 cj-5 and my best freind had a toyota landcruiser. Always liked the landcruiser and it seemed like and improved copy of my jeep. Now i find this and it gets me thinking what else did toyota just outright copy. If i saw this out in a field I would totally think it was an old m37.

Are you saying this yellow truck is a Toyota ?

What is it they say, imitation is the best form of flattery.

yes, toyota fq-15 do google image search to see more. I guess they made them in the 50's for militarty use in SE asia. don't know for which side but they were based off of the m-37. I thought it was kinda neat.

Any Dodge powerwagon guy who looks at the running gear from an FJ40 landcruiser will totally see the similarities.
Toyota may have copied the GM Stovebolt to make their "f" series engines but the rest is Like Dodge yelling in a canyon and the echo coming back in Japanese...
