Looking at the door jam there is a striker plate that the door latch latches onto and just below it there is a steel wedge held on by two screws that guides the door in place. The steel wedge if taken off shows two elongated holes in the jam and a threaded plate behind it.
It looks like it should be able to slide up and down to give you some adjust ment of the guide wedge.
I have tried in vain to get the threaded plate to slide .
I thought it may be rusted in place so I heated it and soaked it penitrating oil but it is solid. There is no way to see whats going on inside the jam as it is closed in the back.
I only need to move it a tiny bit to let the door shut smoother.
My guestion is , should it move or is it welded in place at assembly. Thank you.
