    Tranny problem

    Hi
    Trying to get my M37 back together. Problem is the tranny,It will not shift. Pulled the top cover off and everything seems to move OK with it. When I try moving the gears back and forth on the main shaft the rear one moves OK but the front one will not slide on the shaft.Sorry for the terms but I don't know much about what is what inside. Should the front gears slide back and forth like the rear one?

    Yes the front slider gear should move as the rear one does. With the top cover off you should be able to turn the input shaft and basically run it through the gears. Find the neutral position and go from there. You may have a broken syncro that has jammed the gear.

      Thanks for the reply. I'll check that out. Sure hate to have to pull the tranny again.
