M37 Shocks

The newest acquisition M37 is being torn into a million pieces. I just got the shocks off and need to know how good shocks should function. I don't know much about shocks.

I can take a shock and very easily collapse it. Then I can expand it, but it takes more effort to expand than collapse.

I assume these should be replaced. Am I right?

Should not easily be able to collapse the shock. It should take equal pressure or near equal pressure both ways. You need new shocks!
