new master cylinder, M37. NPT fittings.

Just installed master brake cylinder from Vintage Power wagons. This is is one one with the extra vent line fittings. Anyhow my question is it a recommened practise to use teflon tape or plumbers sealant on the various NPT fitting on the master? I have a variety of leaks. Don't want to over torque the fittings.

I wouldn't use any sealant or tape on those fittings.

Flaired fittings

The fittings and piping should be Flaired making the flair the seal not the threads.

Steve, if it is an original type M/C; the NPT threads will need to be sealed or it will leak. I prefer high-temp thread sealer over tape. The brass fittings that are used have male NPT threads on 1 end and inverted flare seats on the other. The inverted flare fittings do not need sealant as they will seal at the flare. Just be certain that the line flares and the fitting seats are clean before you assemble them.
