The M-37 has quit charging. The battery gauge is in the yellow. When I disconnect the battery the engine quits. It's a 100 amp 24 volt system. The belts are good. Do I start with the alternator or the regulator.
Don't want to start throwing parts at this, as it get pricey.
Also there is an adapter set that plugs into the electrical connections,
To make trouble shooting easier.
You can work around not having one but it's more complicated.
Have You talked to Matt for guidance?
The 100 amp system is more complicated and my first guess would be rectifier.
I believe the field windings are open in the Alternator. I'm getting 24 VDC to the plug that goes to the Alternator. I've read the resistance of the windings with an electronic multi-meter nine ways to Sunday. I get infinity resistance on the field windings. They appear to be open. I did not have the engine running.
I'm not that familiar with the 100 amp system.
I know there troublesome and pricey, because parts are harder to find than the
30 Amp common system.
If your not to worried about originality I would consider a new style 24 V Alt.
With integral regulator and wire it in.
Or a 30 amp system and change it out and sell the 100 amp pieces.
You need to check with Matt.
