Help Me I.D. This Rig,Please.

I'm hoping this is a Dodge of some sorts. If not,I apologise for posting a Non-Dodge Pic in a Dodge forum. But,I'm new and in search of a Dodge project and hope this might be it.

I have been back to look at it a couple times and cannot find a brand name on it. I've searched all the Google Image's and haven't found one like it.

Any help appreciated. Great site by the way.

no I.D. plates on the dash or a WC designation ??

I don't know...

looking at CCKW's seem to have a sloping nose, more of a "bubble" roof, top of cab in pic is higher in rear, etc.

WWII vehicles are an Art & a Science... so many different mfg'rs, so many redesigns...

[OLD DODGE]

It looks a lot like a WWII 1.5 ton Chevy except the cab is too square looking. Perhaps it was an open cab and someone added to it. It doesn't look like the body line on the door matches the fender or the cab.

Can't help you on the truck but I am concerned about the horseshoe
on the front. It should be spun 180 degrees. This keeps the "luck"

I'm sure it's not a Dodge.

Boy That's Close Clint,but the hinges are different and don't line up with the cab lines under the window? But it's hard to tell in your picture being it's so Shiny!!

The truck I am showing is a little newer. They changed the hinges among other things. Notice how these newer doors have three hinges.

The owner is the widow. She knows nothing of the vehicle 'cept she wants it to go away. She's left this fantastic piece of property and is now looking to sell off the old rolling stock laying around.

Thanks for all the responses and suggestions. I'm going back up there in a day or two. Maybe I'll spend some time on the I.D. tags. I'm bummed it's not a Dodge,but maybe it's worth considering
as a Project. It has absolutly no rust to speak of so,finding parts would be my biggest deterent. And, it's not 4X4. Which isn't too big a deal to me.

The I.D. tags are not ledgable anymore. At least not without some restoration.

CLINT... ding...ding...ding... we have a winner... it does look like it

MARKJW... in your 2nd set of pics, 3rd pic doors look like swapped from another vehicle, body lines suddenly end at door frame.

I googled and looked further at steelsoldiers, that body style, if Autocar, is very rare...

most Autocars are HEAVY DUTY tractors; house moving, logging, heavy machinery, etc.

the scarcity alone would make it a very desirable restoration

Autocars are a truckers' truck. a military resto would be even more so...
