Chassis/VIN number question?

I've just got the Chassis/VIN number offf of the chassis of my Dodge WC62, but i don't know if it's the original number.
The number on the chassis is: ITM0052372.
Does this look correct to you guys?
I didn't think that the WC's VIN numbers had letters in them.
I know that the French re-manufactured them when they turned them into fire trucks, etc...

I've now found out from the french Dodgewc forum(i was amazed at how much french i remembered from school 18 years ago!!), that the number i have found so far is not a replacement VIN, but a rebuild number that was stamped on, near to the VIN number, when it was remanufactured.
So back out there with the sandpaper to see what i can find!!
