  • rear window guard

Was there a article on how to build a guard for the rear window on a WC closed cab pick up in the Advertiser? What month and year was it published?

I guess that would be me. It isn't an exact copy of the original as the wires aren't woven and the ends were flush welded and ground smooth. Anyway the article was in the November 2004 issue. Kevin

Rear window grill for 1/2 ton.

I bought a replica from Ken Johnson. He made it with woven wire. It fit my WC-12 very well. He left the tabs without holes so that I could fit it to my truck.

          Read Window Guard Source

          John:

I've sent Ken an email and asked him to post here if he's interested in making and selling more rear window screens. I didn't want to post his email publicly.

            Sorry!

            John S:

I'm sorry sir, I made about 15 of those two years ago and am out of stock. I haven't seen enough interest to make another run (I need to sell at least ten to break even just on materials), so I'm not planning on it right now.

If at least eight people declare thier intention to buy one at about $80 each plus an average of $18 per unit UPS Ground shipping, I will go to the woven wire manufacturer and buy a run. They have to weave it special-order; I can't just buy from stock.

Kevin's guards (above) are very snazzy and look great!

DStevens- Thanks very much for the reference! Glad you were satisfied with it.
