Just picked up a wc-12, but it has dual rear wheels. Is this right? Is it the proper axle with budd wheels. Or a narrowed axle.

These trucks came with the Budd-type lugs which allowed dual tires at all 4 corners. imagine 8 tires on a pick-up truck!
The vast majority of of these trucks never used dual tires when in service, but many civilians added the extra tires for loading and traction.
There are no modifications made to add the duals, so no mods to get rid of them. The only thing to do is take off the outer wheel lug nuts; the inner wheel lug nuts stay on the hubs.
