hey all i have a 41 that has no bed, and i have a 1940 dodge civillian pickup box not a PW box but a VC truck bed. its a low side short box. does anyone know if this bed will fit the 41 or not? i know i can make it fit but is it the right bed for this truck?
The military 1/2ton bed is 78" x 48". Yours should fit OK except the fender mounting holes will be different as the military fenders have a different shape. Also, you would need to add middle bow pockets over the fenders and tie-down hooks if you wanted it to look correct. The middle pockets are made from all flat sheet metal and can be made easily at a sheet metal shop.
ok sweet deal thanks for the dimensions. i knew the fender holes would need to be patched up and a stake pocket added. now if i could only finger out what carb was on the old beaoch so i could get a kit for it id be in business. the part of the razorback on the carb with the casting numbers on it has been broken off. all i know is its a ball and ball with out the dashpot. mikes carburators has like five kits for my carb. not sure which to order i guess i should call him.
anyone got any ideas for two stuck valves without pulling the head?
