The tires on your truck list at what price ? What is the cost for the rims ? There is a guy who has done a few 4bt conversions and has a write up in PWA . Shoot him some pictures of your build and get an estimate of the cost in writing . You can get a second quote from 4btswaps.com there is a fellow on there that has done some builds too . I think he is in Texas and works at Cummins -might be a vendor .
I suspect the cost of removing the inner panels and coating them in rustmort and then welding them back in would cost around 1200 - 2000 bucks at a good body shop .
I was quoted 85 grand by one shop to get to the point my truck is now . That is not finished quote but on the work done to date . The truck is a little over half done , lets say 60 % . Little finicky stuff left to do and adds up .
Hope this helps
Bruce
That's what I told him Bruce. I asked if johns trucks were in as good condition and if any had air conditioning, a diesel, and automatic transmission, air lockers, disc brakes, Michelin tires... Etc. He said for 8700 they would LET me keep my truck. Assuming the 8700 would buy and deliver a truck, I am unsure where the steel floor, sound deadening, double firewall, rust proofing and miscellaneous things would come from, or the time and labor to switch them.
Michelin xl tires are discontinued. The replacements are 900ea, the rims 1200ea. Those 4 things are $8400 to REPLACE. What they cost ME is irrelevant IMHO,
You might want to look into hiring your own independent adjuster. He would work for you and deal with the Insurance companies. A buddy of mine just hired one for some house work and he made out better then if he just dealt with his Ins. Company. I'm not sure if they have them for Autos but it might be worth looking into.
partial list of "upgrades". now some of that (all of it) has to be swapped to the new body, that should be as straight and correct as mine 'was'

What you paid is not relevant , it is what they would cost the insurance company to replace . Got to be equal or better than what you have . My point was that the darn tires and wheels are worth what they have offered you .
ARBs and gears installed by a pro has to cost a bit too , up here 3 grand per axle , the ARBs run 1300 out of the box.

That's EXACTLY what I said. If I die, and give the truck to my son, it's value would NOT be zero.
It looks like you need another adjuster. I have found that if you go to your agent and complain enough about him it might help. The agent works for you (supposedly) and the adjuster works for the company (always). Jerry
And that is for a unmodified truck . Provide the links and tell the guy to get his act together . I will sell them mine for 50,000 if they want one that is modified to something close to yours .
