      Novak Adapt

I called these folks and they haven't carried it in years and can't tell me who they got it from or what it was called. On a hunch, I will try Northstar Willys in Dassell, MN and see what they are using in their jeep knuckles. Will pass along anything that I find. Thanks.....Keith.

I called Northstar Willys in Minnesota and found-out the recipe they have been using for some time with respect to the steering knuckles in their Jeeps. They use a mixture of 80 or 90 weight gear lubricant cut with enough high pressure axle grease to form the consistency of pudding. They indicated no incompatibility problems experienced between the two. So, I guess I'll use the high pressure grease in all my bearings and the mixture behind the felt seals (Northstar said they had no problems with the mixture leaking past the seals). I am also investigating a Lubriplate product, 1240 L0105, said to be a NGLI grade 0, lithium based, viscous, non-corrosive, water inhibiting and high pressure grease, semi-fluid. Expect to more next week. Any comments would be appreciated.....Keith.

          knuckle pudding

A lot of Jeep guys that have recognized the need for a semi fluid in this application, mix up a gear oil and grease and call it knuckle pudding, this is been used and applied by many ,

Its is this Soda or Sodium grease that Dodge refers to as Short fiber grease that has characteristics that lend it to be the ldeal lube, for this application,

I am in the process of writing a article for Gordon for the Power Wagon Magazine,

                Steering Knuckle Grease

Quite a bit has already been written on this subject in years past. Run a search and you will find volumes of information as it pertains to the one ton flat-fender.
