  • Alternator Part Cross-over? What fits?

For my 1967 WM300. I've made a few calls to parts counters, searched here, checked dozens of websites, and tried to match the cross-over NAPA part from the Power Wagon Parts Crossover (Vaughn)- that part's no longer carried. Nothing. Nobody knows which Delco 10SI alternator fits up.

Anybody have a good supplier number on this? Much appreciated. The truck is a l m o s t on the road. Thanks.

    Maybe these guys can help.
I have not bought from them, but plan to in the future. I want to upgrade the alternator on my W300.
Call and see if they know what you are looking for.

      Alternatives

Thanks Jerry. Nice site. Seems that the J bracket set might be the way to go to adapt any of the Delco 10SI units to a Chrysler/Dodge mount.

My local shop (P&H Auto Electric) here in Baltimore had a heavy duty marine alternator that seemed to match up with my original Chrysler "square back" unit. They will also rebuild my unit for about $35. but I want to eliminate the firewall regulator in my rewire.

That is a very neat bracket that would greatly simplify such installations.

Why is it that the inside of old truck cabs smell so good?

            Alternator in and charging

The marine alternator fit up very nicely; just had to use a 7" piece of 3/8-24 SS all thread instead of the original bolt.

Yes Gordon, that bracket really makes life easier to fit up a 10SI or GM unit to the 251.

We're hoping to get her out on the street Monday, and do the over-heating test.
