Thanks again, What are the best part and shop manuals issued for a 1947WDX s/n 83905798 ? pics below is what I have... and the parts book on the serial number page doesn't have the wdx model listed. It shows a WD15 through WD21. Does my truck fall into that category?

That shop manual will cover the WDX.

Your parts manual is for "W" series trucks.

The power wagon parts manual is a separate stand alone manual,
And depending on the version will cover various year and models.

You can find a reprint on e-bay and VPW sells them also.
Original copies show up now and again and can get pricey.

        quinq,

As I look at your throttle linkage, it seems to be that you may have a car carburetor, rather than one for a truck. It looks like the throttle shaft comes out of the carburetor and points at the firewall. The truck carburetors have the shaft pointing at the right front fender. Maybe it's my eyes, but if this is the case, that could explain the rigged up throttle linkage. So, do you know what carburetor is in your truck?

Tom the shop manual says "w" series also.... isn't the WDX a "w" series?

John Here is a pic of the carb on the truck.. Is this of the automobile/car sort? It has DTC 109 stamped in the flange. And yes the throttle shaft faces the firewall. Engine seems to run good with it.

But if you pay attention to it has sections for WDX also it will list the models a particular article or figure pertains to.
Also it shows the models covered at the bottom of the front cover.
